Pre-delivery advice

1. Prepare and freeze food

Take the time to cook several meals for the first week.  This is a good strategy that you can use to facilitate the first days, which are mainly adaptation.

The options that should not be missing in your freezer are the following:

  • Purees.
  • Yogurts
  • Natural smoothies.
  • Fruits (washed)
  • Sandwiches and snacks.
  • Salads (not seasoned).
  • Fresh (and clean) vegetables.

2. Have clothes ready for the baby

As a new mom, you have probably already purchased several items for your baby’s trousseau. If you have not already done so, try to buy baby clothes from zero to six months. Why? Because you must bear in mind that a baby grows quickly. On the other hand, there are babies that are born larger than others.

Of course
This, new clothes for the baby should be washed and stored preferably in airtight plastic bags. You should do the same with blankets, towels, cloth diapers, stuffed animals and everything that will come into direct contact with the baby.

3. Gather your baby’s basic care and grooming supplies

  • Formula milk and bottles. In case you plan to breastfeed your baby, these two products will not be necessary during the first days. Otherwise, buy formula and two bottles.
  • Diapers During the first days you will need between 8 and 12. Of course, do not venture to buy many because the baby grows fast and in a few days he will need a different size.
Prepare basic care and hygiene items for your baby
  • Personal hygiene items for your baby.  Baby shampoo, wet wipes, soaps, talcum powder, baby nail clippers, lotion or moisturizer, bath sponge, lotions, etc.
  • Cream for irritations or chafing. The diaper can cause small lesions on your baby’s skin that are easy to heal with the appropriate cream. Try to always have it at hand.
  • A good diaper bag.  This is an essential item since when you go out with your baby you will need to bring the basics and this cannot go in our personal bag onal. We recommend choosing a diaper bag that fits all the basics and is made of an easy-to-clean material.
